How To Use Customer Data To Make Better Decisions
Posted by admin at May 31st, 2013
We are big fans of The Lean Start Up, and Eric Ries and Steve Blanks lean start up model. I couldn’t agree more with Steve, the lean start up is no longer just for startups. “Companies are facing continuous disruption. Business-as-usual is not a credible response,” Blank writes in the cover story of the May issue of the Harvard Business Review: Why the Lean Startup Changes Everything. If you haven’t read this article, do so, business today is not business-as-usual.
Steve has an interesting view point on big data, as big data is a term that is often used unilaterally, today its about having clear insight into the data you collect and its about executing by leveraging the correlation and making connections with that data. Blank said. Rather he believes using the data to make better decisions is what makes a company “explosive.”
Provisibly software allows customers to combine business and customer data points with their own intuition, and then allows the business to execute on the customer plan. So many companies today spend there time focusing on automating their marketing and understand their demand generation strategies, my humble advice, is don’t forget about your customers. They are the most important part of your business.
Ill end his blog article, with another statement from Steve Blank, he believes companies get into trouble when they “fail to understand what customers want.” It’s easier to avoid failure if you “build a customer-centric business,” Well said Mr. Blank, well said.
